With a 250-year supply, coal represents more than 85 percent of U.S. fossil energy reserves while generating approximately half of the electricity in the US and nearly 40% worldwide. Nearly 70% of all steel products are created using coal. The US Coal industry directly employs over 170,000 Americans, with an estimated 1.5 million ancillary jobs associated with Coal. Besides the Human Capital importance of the Coal Industry, Coal plays an integral role in the development of everyday products we rely on.
Lipari Energy is a socially conscious producer of natural resources, focusing on the philosophy of measuring returns through 3 verticals: Safety, Environmental, and Financial Performance.
Our OperationsCurrently, Lipari Energy supplies coal to fuel the needs of major utility and industrial operators. Our operations include strip mining, contour mining, auger mining and high-wall mining. We have 5 operations currently producing coal. This coal is extracted and hauled to our Tipple and Processing facility in Manchester, Kentucky. | Our CoalLipari Energy mines bituminous coal in the Central Appalachian coal region. We employ over 150 people and control and operate coal mining entities in the Clay, Owsley, Leslie, and Perry Counties of Southeastern Kentucky. 90% of our coal production is sold to utility operators. |
